Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training

The Fairfield County Emergency Management Agency is excited to announce that they will be offering the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) basic training course this September. The CERT team is the official volunteer cadre of the EMA office, ready to assist during emergencies or planned events.

More importantly, this training teaches you how to prepare yourself and your family for when an emergency or disaster may occur at home. During this free training, you will learn from subject matter experts, including lessons in emergency preparedness, first aid, fire safety, search and rescue, and disaster psychology.

This year’s course dates are as follows:

• Tuesday, September 12th, 6 PM – 9 PM
• Wednesday, September 13th, 6 PM – 9 PM
• Tuesday, September 19th, 6 PM – 9 PM
• Wednesday, September 20th, 6 PM – 9 PM
• Saturday, September 30th, 9 AM – 12 PM

You are required to attend all sessions in order to receive your CERT Basic Certification. However, special arrangements can be made to make up days that you are unable to attend in person.
